The ICIAM Dianoia newsletter was created to express the interests of ICIAM member societies and partner organizations. The views expressed in this Newsletter are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent those of ICIAM itself or the Editorial team. We welcome articles from members and associations, both announcing events, on-site reports from events and industry news.
From Wikipedia: Dianoia (Greek: διανοια) a term used by Plato for a type of thinking, specifically about mathematical and technical subjects. It is the capacity for, process of, or result of discursive thinking, in contrast with the immediate apprehension that is characteristic of noesis. In Aristotle, knowledge is further divided into the theoretical (episteme), and the practical, which includes techne and phronesis.
The Newsletter will appear quarterly, in electronic form, in January, April, July and October. To receive email announcements of each new issue, subscribe to the Google Groups list via the frame below, or go to ICIAM News website hosted at Google Groups.
